Problem

Backup-to-Disk Folders (B2D) show “Low Disk Space” in Backup Exec devices tab even after the removal and/or clean-up of the B2D files from the physical B2D location

Cause

The storage location has reached its full capacity and manual deletion of the B2D files has taken place.

Solution

Use the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. “Pause” the backup-to-disk folder within Backup Exec (Right Click on the B2D Folder within the Devices Tab and click on “Pause”).

2. “Un-Pause” the backup-to-disk folder within Backup Exec (Right Click on the B2D Folder within the Devices Tab and click on “Unpause”).

3. If the folder shows as “Offline” again, restart the Backup Exec service, device should go online.

Note: If this does not work, re-create the B2D folder (Delete the folder from within Backup Exec and create it again at the same location with the same name). In some cases, it may be necessary to cancel and restart the jobs even after these steps are taken.
